Either way it requires special care and maintenance to keep their beauty intact over time. There is much you can do to keep the floors in good condition.
Before deciding to launch any kind of repair or
maintenance finish is essential to know the type of finish on the floor. The largest hardwood floors in general, have as standard the coating of lacquer or varnish finish, while the new flats will be finished with polyurethane.
To make sure the wood floor maintenance, first choose an inconspicuous area such as the bath, apply a cotton ball in acetone or paint remover and rub it over the target area. If the cotton ball is stained and the floor looks bad, then we know that this requires a finish with varnish or shellac.
For daily maintenance makes sense, protects the wood floor of unnecessary wear. Soil, sand or gravel can cause scratches on the surface. Preferably you should refrain from using high-heeled shoes and boots on the wood surfaces. A daily routine of sweeping and mopping will also help.
